Community Center Committee

Minutes of Community Center Committee meeting November 16, 2007

Chairman Jo Schmidt called the meeting to order at 1 PM.

Members in attendance: Jo Schmidt, Rich Lazanov, Kurt Schaffert, Mary Owens, Bob Gilbert & Tom Bruns.  Also attending Art Gabler & Dan Owens  Directors FRCA BOD.

Old Business:

BOD approved changes to the Community Center rules.  The ID card printer will no longer be needed as the requirement to scan cards when entering the Community Center has been removed. 

New business:

Rich and Jo to work with property manager to develop proposal to automate the entrance doors (one side) to facilitate handicap access to the Center.

Kurt will continue to develop copier requirements and cost options for service agreement.  It has been determined that the copier is owned by FRCA and is no longer under lease.

Bill Smith will be asked to investigate cost for replacing all thermostats with programmable thermostats.  He will also continue to analyze Community center operational expenses. 

Bob Gilbert will review with concierges the need to turn off lights in rooms when not in use

Jo will review pool management contract with property manager.

Jo will investigate center lighting conservation opportunities.

Tom to obtain cost estimates for entrance canopy.

Mary will continue to develop cost comparison for center phones.

Next meeting will be December 10, 2007 at 1 PM
