Community Center Committee

Minutes of May 16, 2008 meeting

Chairman Jo Schmidt called the meeting to order at 1 PM.

Members in attendance: Jo Schmidt, Bob Gilbert, Tom Bruns and Nick Hilgert.  Also attending were Toni Brown, committee liaison to the BOD and Ann Jones, Activities Director.

Jo gave a review of the status of the replacement of floors damaged by the sprinkler system.  Sylva has a SOW for the work and Armstrong Management will prepare a contract.  BOD will review the contract and, if approved, the contract will be issued to Carpet One. 

Budget recommendations will be finalized at our June meeting for submittal to the finance committee.

Charity guidelines for the center were requested.  The Center Committee recommends that:      

Charity must be sponsored by a Falls Run Resident.

That charity events at the Center should be limited to one at a time.

That the hallway to the pool be designated for displays/collections for the Lions Club, Toys for Tots and the like.

It was agreed that Ann would purchase four folding tables to replace non-portable tables.

Our next scheduled meeting is Friday June 20, 2008 at 1 PM.
