Minutes Community Center Committee 12/18/09

The meeting was called to order at 1 PM by Chairman Tom Bruns.  Members in attendance were Jo Schmidt, Kurt Schaffert, Bob Gilbert, Rich Lazanov and Martha Poillon.  Also attending were BoD members Jake Bernard and Dan Owens, Ann Jones, Debbie Sutton and Al Venit.

Reading of November minutes was waived.

Old Business:

1.     Termite control - Mike Williams of Triple S Services made a presentation on Termite Control.  He discussed two methods, a barrier system and a sentricon bait system.  Mr. Williams left after the presentation and the committee discussed three bids Debbie had received.  After discussion the committee voted unanimously to send a Request for Action to the BoD recommending that termite control for the center be approved using the Sentricon Colony Elimination System.

2.     Pool tables -  upgrades were discussed and Debbie will handle as maintenance.

3.     Monitor cameras - Use of camera’s  that came with the new log in system was discussed with decision deferred to the future.

4.     Pool proposals -Kurt presented three pool maintenance proposals.  It was agreed that

Debbie & Kurt will request clarification on the proposals.

New Business:

1.     Thermostats – it was agreed that thermostats settings would be checked and re-programmed as needed.  Jo Schmidt agreed to do this.

2.     Kitchen stove – Al Venit, member of the Social Committee, presented a proposal to have an electric stove and micro-wave added to the kitchen.  The committee agreed to investigate this request.  First steps are to determine why previous requests were not implemented and to inquire with Stafford code enforcement what might be required by them.

The next meeting will be January 15, 2010 at 1 PM.
