Community Center Committee

Minutes Community Center Committee 1/15/10

The meeting was called to order at 1 PM by Tom Bruns.  Members in attendance were Jo Schmidt, Kurt Schaffert, Bob Gilbert, Martha Poillon and Rich Lazanov.  Also attending were Dan Owens, Debbie Sutton and Ann Jones.

Reading of December minutes were waived.

Old Business:

Termite Control – a motion was made and seconded to submit the Request for Action as written by Tom.  Motion was approved unanimously.

Pool Tables – Debbie reported that the pool tables have been leveled and resurfaced.  FRCA will purchase one new cover and players will purchase another.

Pool Proposals – After reviewing and discussing several proposals a motion was made and seconded there was a unanimous vote to recommend Rappahannock Pool Maintenance, Inc. be awarded the contract for maintenance of the indoor and outdoor pools.

Thermostats – Jo agreed to re-check the thermostats.

Kitchen Stove – Jo will continue getting prices for equipment and installation and visit Stafford County Code office to determine requirements for installation.

Pool Volunteers – Martha stated that she would hold a meeting of the volunteers to determine roles and duties.  Bob and Tom agreed to attend the meeting which will be held before the next committee meeting.  More volunteers are needed.

New Business:

Center Rules – It was agreed that a sub-committee be formed to study and recommend changes or additions to the Center Rules and confirm that they make sense.  Tom, Ann, Rich , Kurt and Jo accepted this task.
