Notes from the Communications Committee meeting of July 14

  In attendance:  Bill Arnst, Len Godek, Margie Kramer, Jack Mounts, Com Com; Ann Jones, AD; and Dan Owens, Board Liaison.

1.  Following are discussion items pertaining to the Falls Run Communications Survey:

• Corrections were made to the survey questionnaire.  Jack will incorporate these corrections into a finalized version and send it, along with questions regarding survey format/content, to the Com Com members, who will make three copies to give to their neighbors to complete.  Results of the survey of the survey format/content then will be given to Jack and a Com Com meeting to be held July 21, 9:30 a.m. at the Rec Center to review the results
• An RFA will be developed and submitted to the BOD on August 2 asking for permission to issue the survey. 
• If approved by the BOD, the survey questionnaire will reproduced (800 copies to be distributed with the September Gazette and 100 extra copies on Beige, 20 pound stock).  A short article will be placed in the September Gazette reminding/asking residents to complete the survey.
• The timeframe for the return of the questionnaires is September 1 through 15.  A box will be placed in the Concierge area for residents to deposit their survey forms.  It was decided that a cash award to a randomly selected survey respondent, although it may increase participation, would not be done since it would set a precedent.
• The Com Com will meet September 21 at 7 p.m. in the Rec Center to go over the results of the survey.  An article will be placed in the October or November Gazette thanking the residents for their participation in the survey.

2.  The need for improvements to the Falls Run audio-visual closet was also discussed.  Mention of this need surfaced during the July 12 BOD working session, and an email was sent by Jack to Bob Gilbert and the Rec Center Committee asking for their cooperation and support in this project.
