Modifications Committee Meeting Minutes for 7/08/09

The Modifications Committee met on Wednesday at 10 AM.  Members present were Nancy Arnn, Joan Bitely, Bill Chance, Jim Eppes and Shirley Sommer.  Also present were Don Horan, liaison to the BOD, Tom Whalen, secretary of the BOD, Betty Whiteaker, Gail Winkler, Iris Saunders, Susan and Bruce McDowell and several other residents.

Other Activity

We reviewed the article prepared by Shirley Sommer for the September Gazette and made some additions to it.

Went over Guidelines for Inspections, which will be an insert in the September Gazette, and approved it as is.

The new design guideline for poured concrete walls was fine tuned and will be forwarded to the BOD for approval.

We discussed the concern for back yard inspections, but could not agree on a good plan of action.  This needs to be handled by an ad hoc committee.

As a result of noncompliance letters being sent for excessive ornaments, there have been 2 requests for hearings before the Covenants Committee.  No date has been set.

The July 15 photo shoot of the committee will be changed to accommodate Bill Chance, if possible. 

Bill Chance is going to look into the rules that govern resale inspections.  We would like to see them done when the house first goes on the market.
