Modifications Committee Meeting Minutes for 02/17/2010

The regular schedule called for this committee to meet on 02/10/2010, but the Center was closed due to snow and ice on that date.  The Modcom met on Wednesday, 02/17/2010 at 10am.  Members present were Nancy Arnn, Joan Bitely, Jim Eppes and Shirley Sommer.  Also present was Emery Dilda, liaison to the Villa BOD.  A resident, Nancy Devine, was present for the review of her application, as was Chris Mowry, representing Green Stream Irrigation.

Other Activity

Shirley reported that the FRCABOD has decided that the Modcom cannot limit the number or make-up of its members.  Barbara Chadwick has been informed of this.  She had expressed an interest in joining the committee and was told we were not increasing our number at this time.  Barbara has since responded that “since she and her husband will be gone all of June, July and half of August it would be better for our group not to include her”.

A final step has been added to the Flowchart for Villa Applications, that being that the Property Manager places the completed list in the Modcom file folder in the Concierge’s desk.

Nancy Arnn prepared such an appealing message for more volunteer inspectors for the last issue of the Gazette that we got three more volunteers.  To date the volunteer inspectors are:  D. Filler, B. Gilbert, F. Ironside, P. Muir, R. Pinion, I. Schearer, D. Wilson, L. Wright, G. Sherry.

Shirley made sure that all Modcom members are aware of the format for the Town Hall Meeting on Revised Guidelines, scheduled for tonight at 7pm.  We reviewed our assigned “Areas of Expertise”.

The suggestion to use Channel 20 to familiarize residents with revised guidelines, once approved, was not met with much enthusiasm

We discussed changing “Design Guidelines” to “Design Guidelines & Rules” or “Design Standards” and preferred the former over the latter.

Our next scheduled meeting will be on Wednesday, March 10 at 10am.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:20am.
