In the event of a snow fall over two inches
or ice on the roadways, our snow plans will go into effect. The timing of the
snow will affect when snow treatment is started. The contractor will work on our
streets as soon as it is safe and it may be at any time of the day or night. We
also will look at upcoming weather to make a final decision when to plow or
treat streets. In order to allow the contractor to accomplish his job, we must
also be willing to help.
-
Please do not park in the street. As in any snow emergency, cars impeding
snow plowing may be plowed in and could be towed. Try to stay off the roads
until plowed.
-
Please do not shovel snow into the street. This just creates additional
problems and possible icing. Snow plows will push snow back into your drive
or walk if you shovel prior to them clearing the road way. This is a fact of
life. They can not stop at each drive and change directions. Our contract
calls for pushing the snow to the side, and not for removal.
-
Do not contact, stop, or in anyway interfere with contractor. Main roads
will be plowed first. Direct any complaints or questions to Armstrong Mgmt
(Debbie Sutton) for all road and Community Center issues or JCA (Villa/Condo
only issues).
-
Check channel 20 and/or the Falls Run Web Site for closings or
cancellations. The Community Center may be closed until the parking lot and
sidewalks are cleared. This will allow the contractor to clean the snow
before vehicles block the parking lot. If snow starts during the day. the
staff will decide when to close the Community Center.
-
Damage by the contractor such as mail boxes should be reported to Debbie
Sutton as soon as possible for repair or resolution.
-
Single family homeowners have responsibility to clean the walk in front and
on the side of your property as well as in front of the mailbox. If you are
gone for vacation or the winter, arrangements must be made to insure this is
accomplished.
Our goal is to assure safe travel within the community as
fast as possible. What happens once you get to Plantation Drive is up to the
Virginia Department of Transportation.
